Ella completes the family

I just wanted to touch base with you and fill you in on our newest baby, Ella.

We adopted her in December 2010, the week before Christmas. At first we wanted a kitten but then I saw her … she was a 4-month-old Calico, then named Barbie and that chubby little face melted my heart!

I had met with her in the little room at PetsMart, along with some other cats and decided to sleep on it before I made my decision, but the whole way home I couldn’t get her little face out of my head. I called as soon as I got home and told them she was the one for me.

She is now named Ella, Eloise when she is naughty … lol … and she is doing wonderfully in our home, with our two dogs, Lucy and Leo and our other cat Nala, who is also a HSWC rescue. My husband and I, along with our twin daughters love them all so much and are so grateful to be able to give them a home. Ella reminds us a lot of our cat we lost last October, Nash; same personality, same characteristics, same spunk and that helps to keep his memory alive.

She loves to look out the windows and snuggle with Nala on the bed, she loves to pick off pieces of my plants (that is when she is naughty) and she loves any sort of people food. Although we don’t give her any, when you sit down to eat, watch out! She will be right there with her chubby little self. My husband one night wasn’t at dinner and my girls and I looked over and there was Ella, sitting in his chair at the dinner table, with her little head just over the table, saying “hey, where’s mine?” LOL

We thank you so much for the work you do, the time you dedicate and the love you show to these animals, we thank you and they thank you!
